Sam Smith

Sam has worked professionally as a musician and producer since 2004 releasing two critically acclaimed albums with Chemikal Underground (under the moniker Mother and the Addicts) and released records with Wos/Pias and V2 and is published by Sony BMG. He currently records for Moshi Moshi with the band Casual Sex. Sam has recorded albums for Sons and Daughters album with JD Twitch (Optimo), produced the 1990's (Rough Trade) latest LP, Correcto's (Domino) forthcoming LP, Alasdair Roberts (Drag City), nominated forth best Album of 2009 by WIRE magazine alongside Remember Remember (Rock Action), For Abel (Flowers in the Dustbin), She's Hit (Repeater Records), The Tussel (Rong/DFA), Natalie Pryce, David Shrigley. Rude Pravo (Luke Fowler), Laura St Jude (Oligo Records), Scunner, Male Pattern Band, Divorce, The Lucid Dream. He has engineered and produced alongside, Edwin Collins (Orange Juice), Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Phantom Band, Twilight Sad), Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, John Foxx) Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Super Furry Animals, Belle and Sebastian) and Andy Millar (Arab Strap, Scoutt Niblett). Sam also works as a mastering engineer and has recently mastered records for Golden Teacher (Optimo Music) Zummo With and X (featuring the late Arthur Russel for Optimo Music), Wake The President (Tri Tone),The Some Songs compilation and Post (Creeping Bent) and specialises in mastering for both Digital and Vinyl.

Emily MacLaren

Emily has worked as an audio engineer and musician since the late 90’s. After studying Sound Engineering at Stow College, she spent 2 years in France setting up South Factory Studios with the founders of seminal New York No-Wave/"Mutant Disco" label Ze Records; working alongside Michel Bassignini and Michel Esteban (Suicide, James Chance and the Contortions, Lizzy Mercier, DNA, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks) she recorded the first album, In the Red, for her band, Michael Dracula (Ze Records, 2007). She returned to the UK in 2006 to set up The Green Door and has since engineered albums/EP’s for Golden Teacher (Optimo Music), The Amazing Snakeheads (Domino Records), Insect Heroes, Post (Creeping Bent), Saint Max & The Fanatics (Armellodie), Organs Of Love (Optimo Music), Palms, Optimo Music, Jacob Yates and The Pearly Gate Lock-Pickers, In Posterface, Gropetown, Clocked Out, Gummy Stumps, The Creeping Ivies (Deadbeat Records), The Cosmic Dead, Wife Vs Secretary, She’s Hit, Ultimate Thrush, Eternal Fags, Black Jash, Adopted As Holograph, North American War, Smack Wizards, Honey and the Herbs, Adam Stearns & The Glas Animals and many others, as well as collaborations with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Having completed an M-Des in Sound for The Moving Image at Glasgow School of Art, she also specializes in composition and sound design for film, and has recorded soundtracks for “I’ll Be Right Here” and “Rule of Thumb” (Director: Gregor Johnstone).

Stuart Evans

Stuart started as a professional musician in the late 1990's with his first band releasing two critically acclaimed albums on Nude Records. He has worked with the likes of Mike Hedges (The Cure, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Manic Street Preachers, The Associates) and Howie B (Brian Eno, Sly & Robbie, Bjork, Robbie Robertson). Since the opening of The Green Door Studio in 2007 he has engineered and mixed albums and EPs for Golden Teacher (Optimo Music), The Amazing Snakeheads (Domino Records), Insect Heroes, Post (Creeping Bent), Saint Max & The Fanatics (Armellodie), Organs Of Love (Optimo Music), Palms, Jacob Yates & The Pearly gate Lock Pickers, Gummy Stumps, In Posterface, Honey & The Herbs, Adam Stearns & The Glass Animals, Gropetown, Clocked Out, The Creeping Ivies (Deadbeat Records), The Cosmic Dead, Wife Vs Secretary, She's Hit (RE:PEATER Records), Eternal Fags, Ultimate Thrush, The Rosy Crucifixion, Black Jash, Smack Wizards (Winning Sperm Party), North American War, and Fur Hood.

Stuart DJ's and produces electronic music as Les Diaboliques with remixes for Moshi Moshi music, RE:PEATER records, and has recorded a forthcoming EP for Pizzico Records (Italy).

Jamie Grier

Jamie has been a working musician and freelance sound engineer since 1998, releasing music through Iridite Recordings and an album and EP with his previous band Park Attack for Parisian record labels Textile and Tigersushi, licensed worldwide through Ba Da Bing (New York) and Optimo/Oscarr (Glasgow). As a recording engineer he’s recently worked on releases for Muscles of Joy (Watts of Goodwill/monorail), Konx om Pax (Display Copy), Golden Grrrls , Shit Disco (Fierce Panda/Sony), Gummy Stumps (Sorcha Dallas), Tut Vu Vu (GFM) and The Scottish Enlightenment (Armelodie) and many others. Previous to the Green Door Jamie was a live sound engineer at Stereo and freelance at just about every gig space in Glasgow and is live engineer at The Glue Factory. He is also prone to tinkering about with electronics and MAX/MSP, helping artists and performers on specialised sound and lighting rigs at CCA, Transmission, The Project rooms, Tramway, GSA, DCA, and The Sonic Soak festival with the 85a collective.
